What Is Clear Paint Protection Film (PPF)? Clear paint protection film (PPF), also called clear bra, clear film or clear paint film, is a transparent thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) self-healing film applied to the painted surfaces of a new or used car. It forms an invisible protective barrier between the original paint and the outside environment, and shields the surface from stone chips, bug splatters, minor abrasions, road debris, acid rain, bird droppings and tree sap.
